Our mission is to create warm and inviting living spaces for families in homeless and domestic violence shelters while they rebuild their lives.
Deserving Decor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of community volunteers who donate their time, passion and talent to furnish and decorate transitional homeless shelters – using community donated funding, furnishings, household goods and home decor.
Services:
- Perform homeless shelter makeovers by furnishing and decorating transitional shelter apartments.
- Advocate and educate on behalf of women and children living in homeless and domestic violence shelters.
Recycle:
Deserving Decor is a green organization. We recycle, repurpose and refashion donated furnishings and home decor. Recycling prevents wood, textiles, glass, metal and other materials from going to landfills.
Support:
We can’t do it without you! We need volunteers, donors and sponsors to enable us to provide our services to our partners. Read our Calendar and Events page for current Deserving Decor project information.
Current Needs:
Currently we do not have the ability to accept large donated furniture because of lack of warehouse space.
We are looking for a donated workshop in the Central Bucks area to refinish, refurbish and recycle furniture and home decor.
We are looking for a donated house, building or warehouse to establish a Furniture Bank. Families transitioning from homeless and domestic violence shelters to rental housing literally have nothing other than their personal belongings. The ability for Deserving Decor to provide recently housed families with furniture and household goods is a crucial resource needed in Bucks County, PA.
